Borough of Carnegie Request for BidsnNotice to Garbage and Rubbish Contractors Sealed bids will be received for the Hauling and Disposal of Garbage, Rubbish, Bulk Waste, and Recyclables from residential units in The Borough of Carnegie. Multi-family apartments and commercial business may elect to subscribe, but are not required to subscribe, to the service under this contract. The Borough estimates that there are approximately 3,000 single family units.nNotice is hereby given that specifications and proposal forms are available from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekdays at the Carnegie Borough Municipal Building located at 1 Veterans Way, Carnegie, Pa 15106. The Borough will furnish copies of the bid specifications and forms to prospective proponents upon payment of a $15.00 fee.nBids will be received at the Borough of Carnegie Municipal Building until 10:00 AM, prevailing time on June 3, 2016. Bids will be opened in public on June 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Carnegie Municipal Building. A MANDATORY Pre-bid Conference is scheduled for May 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Carnegie Borough Building located at 1 Veterans Way, Carnegie, PA 15106.nThe Borough has formulated several bids alternatives. Bidders ARE NOT required to provide a bid for each alternative. Each alternative will be considered on its price and operation method independently. A bidder will NOT be disqualified for supplying only one or a few of the Bid Alternatives.nProposals must be submitted on the Official Bid Form. All blank spaces must be completed and no other markings are to be made thereon. All Bids must be signed.nThe Borough explicitly reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part and waive any formalities. Each bid shall remain firm for a period of ninety (90) days.nBids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Certified Check made payable without conditions, in the name Borough of Carnegie in the amount no less than ten percent (10%) of the first annual contract amount.nAll bids must be sealed, identified with the name and address of the bidder and clearly marked in the lower left corner of the envelope, "Bid for Garbage and Refuse Service."nAward of the Contract shall be made at the Council Meeting to be held at 6:00 PM., June 6, 2016. The Contract is to commence July 1.2016.nDetailed specifications provided hereafter, are and shall be considered a part of the contract.nIt is the bidder's responsibility to make a complete inspection of the Borough of Carnegie in order to be familiar with all conditions under the bid, and to assure the Borough said contractor will be able to fulfill the contract upon signing.nEach bidder shall provide either evidence of ownership or evidence of a non-cancelable agreement covering use of the disposal area for a period coinciding with the initial Contract year through the end of the Third year option year.
